The Shiawassee Community Foundation announces the opening of a new scholarship in memory of Kyler Raffaelli, who passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2019.
Kyler was born on October 12, 1995 to Michael and Daniele (Shafer) Raffaelli in Owosso. He graduated from Owosso High School with the Class of 2014. Kyler worked for Harris Electric, where he was studying to be a journeyman.
From a young age, Kyler was involved in athletics, playing soccer every season through high school. He loved spending time outdoors, including activities like kayaking, hunting up north, fishing with his dad in Canada, hiking the Superstition Mountains in Arizona with his uncle, snowboarding in northern Michigan with his buddies and cousins, and kicking the soccer ball around with his sister. Kyler was a hard worker, an adored big brother, and a true friend. He loved his family and friends more than anything. He will be remembered by so many for his willingness to give his time and talents to help them out with home repair projects and electrical work. Kyler had a smile that could light up any room and always a playful gleam in his stunning blue eyes. He was a beloved member of the Owosso First Church of Christ family, and he will be fiercely missed by all who knew him.
The Kyler Raffaelli Memorial Scholarship is available to Shiawassee area high school seniors and graduates planning to pursue the skilled trades. Preference will be given to Owosso High School seniors and graduates. For more information or to donate to this scholarship fund, please call (989) 725-1093.
